THE
PROBLEM
Equipment and tools that are used
in drilling, production and completion operations need to be cleaned
upon return to the plant. After washing the equipment and tools,
the dirty
water becomes contaminated. The contaminates may
include:
oil, grease, pipe dope, drilling fluids, metals,
(e.g., iron,
copper, lead, chromium, barium, zinc, etc.), and sometimes
caustic fluids.
Caustic contamination results in
a high pH water that is not acceptable
for discharge under environmental laws. Additionally, high pH
water is hazardous to personnel. The standard "filter-type"
wastewater treatment systems do not correct for pH and are not ideally suited for this application.
THE SOLUTION
An ideal wash water treatment system
should clean the water according to environmental laws, with no operator
interaction, minimal maintenance service requirements and low operating
costs. The AutoPure ® technology
is Devin Systems' solution to the problem.
AutoPure
® cleans the water through chemical precipitation by the
addition of two treatment chemicals and a polymer via a recipe
under the control of a computer.
No filters are used, therefore achieving minimal service and maintenance
costs.
